Planning Departments and NIMBY’s

Vancouver and Toronto planning departments and their NIMBY’s have cost these cities tens of thousands of units due to the last 20 years of pushing down density and heights. Now it is all coming to roost. That 30-floor tower that should have been 34 floors cost these cities potentially 40 units to their future supply Multiply that by the hundreds of projects affected and you have the scale of ineptitude and wreckage done. It can’t be fixed; the damage is done. What are we going to do going forward? Every week that passes these planning policies costs these cities more housing. This is no need to scratch your head. The supply issue is defacto caused by planning and NIMBY’s.
