Low Supply

This study is wrongheaded. Land an hour and a half from Toronto is not everyone’s cup of tea. City core land is tied up in new Historic Control Districts that prevents sites from being developed. No more Ontario Municipal Board has slowed down development acquisition as developers’ risk is now through the roof. Negative provincial government policies on development is killing the industry. Delays for permits at the city are adding two years to each project. Finally, most of the city’s easy land has been developed. This is the new reality. Low supply.
